I am often asked about a particular quirk of mine: why do I address everyone I meet or communicate with as "Love"? The curiosity in their eyes is always apparent, sometimes paired with amusement, other times with slight confusion. But to me, it's more than just a term of endearment or a casual greeting.
I once sat across from a client, her brows furrowed with curiosity, and she finally posed the question that many have thought but few have voiced, "Why do you call everyone Love?" I remember taking a deep breath, gathering my thoughts, and then sharing the core of my belief.
I call everyone "Love" because they had to be loved to have been made so special and unique. Think about it. Every individual you encounter possesses a set of characteristics, experiences, dreams, and stories that are exclusive to them. Isn't that the result of a cosmic love that celebrates diversity and individuality?
I genuinely feel this way. When I look into someone's eyes, be it a stranger or a dear friend, I see a universe of experiences and emotions. I see a canvas painted with love, trials, victories, heartbreaks, and joys. I believe that every one of us is a walking testament to Gods loving power and presence in the world.
By addressing everyone as "Love", I am also constantly reminding myself of this perspective. In a world that can sometimes be cold, judgmental, and divisive, this simple act serves as my personal rebellion. It's a small gesture to bridge the gap between us, to remember our shared humanity and the invisible threads of love that connect us all.
Over the years, this practice has transformed not only the way I view others but also how I view myself. Recognizing love in others has helped me discover and embrace the Gods love within myself. It's made me more patient, compassionate, and understanding.
Of course, there are those who might find this practice odd or insincere. And that's okay. For me, it's a daily commitment to see the world through the lens of love. It's my way of cherishing the uniqueness in every individual and celebrating the love that brought them into existence.
So, the next time you hear me say, "Hello, Love," know that it's more than just a greeting. It's a recognition of your unique journey, your special story, and the undeniable love that created you.
